RADIO FEATURE: DIE VERMESSUNG DER PSYCHE

Die Vermessung der Psyche

von Sebastian Meissner

ARD Radio Feature - 24.04.2019 - 53 Min.

RADIO FEATURE: SELBSTMORDGEDANKEN

Selbstmordgedanken (Thoughts Of Suicide)

von Sebastian Meissner & Emily Hochman

Deutschlandfunk Kultur - 02.03.2019 - 54 Min.

mit: Emily Hochman, Sebastian Meissner, Kevin Braddock, Mark Fisher, Institute of Precarious Consciousness, Armen Avanessian.

English: Every year more than 800,000 people worldwide commit suicide. One suicide every 40 seconds. The number of suicides between the age of 15 to 28 is clearly the highest. People from low- and middle-income households account for 75%. 90% of people who die from suicide have suffered from a psychiatric illness. 50% from depression alone. In Germany there are 10,000 who die each year by suicide. More than in traffic accidents and drugs related deaths together. The number of suicide attempts is estimated to be 20 times higher.
